A PAIR OF MENNECY BISCUIT FIGURE GROUPS EMBLEMATIC OF LOVE
Circa 1760, incised D,V and script lower case F marks
Each modelled as a gallant and companion seated on stepped rocks, one with the gallant handing his companion flowers from the basket on his lap, she threading them into a garland, the other with the companion holding a cage with a pair of billing doves on her lap, her suitor seated at her feet, a third bird perched on his left hand, its tether in her right hand
