A RARE IMPERIAL BEIJING ENAMEL BOX AND COVER
BLUE-ENAMEL QIANLONG FOUR-CHARACTER MARK AND OF THE PERIOD

The lobed box and cover is formed as a gourd painted with delicately shaded enamels highlighting the continuous composite flower scroll reserved on a rich yellow ground, the gilt finial is formed as a stem emerging from a barbed quatrefoil panel enclosing overlapping leaves, the interior enamelled turquoise, the base with the nianhao encircled by overlapping ruyi-heads (enamels retouched to rims)
