A kitchen still life

Lucas Verkoren was a friend of Pieter Herfst. Like him, he was an amateur painter and director of a factory in Leiden in daily life. Known for his magic realistic still lifes, Verkoren was called the 'Leidse Dik Ket' (see D. Wintgens Hötte a.o., op.cit.).
