Sold with an H.M.S. Vanguard brooch inscribed, 'Battle of Jutland May 31st 1916'; a purse in the form of a sailor's cap, containing part of a shell fuse; and medal forwarding boxes with Admiralty enclosure.
Able Seaman Ernest Samuel Parker, aged 20 years, was killed on 9.7.1917 at Scapa Flow when H.M.S. Vanguard blew up. Just 97 men survived.
