Sold with a portrait photograph of the recipient and a card of Field Marshal Lord Wolseley from the Dowager Viscountess Wolseley, Hampton Court Palace, inscribed, 'For Private C.H. Oakey'.

Private C.H. Oakey embarked for France on 15.8.1914 and was taken P.O.W. later that month.
