Corporal John Leigh, who was born at Totnes, and enlisted at Teignmouth, Devon was killed in action on 10.9.1918, during the attack of the 229th Brigade on the Horse-Shoe Trench system in front of Ronssoy, while serving with the 16th Battalion, Devonshire Regiment and is buried in St. Emilie Valley Cemetery, Villers, Faucon.
