Major (John) Henry Oehme was first commissioned into the King's German Legion in March 1805, promoted to Lieutenant on 21.5.1806, and subsequently gained advancement to Captain on 26.3.1812. He served with the Expedition to the Baltic in 1807, in the Mediterranean between 1808-14, the Netherlands in 1814 and at Waterloo in 1815. He appears on the British Army Half-Pay List from 24.2.1816, then as Major by Brevet on the Hanoverian Retired List. He died at Wilsdorf near Harburg on 11.5.1820.
