The Natal Carbineers:
This famous Corps was originally raised in Pietermaritzburg in 1855 and employed a small contingent during the Zulu War of 1879, most memorably at Isandhlwana where 20 of its number were killed. Just 75 Medals were issued to the unit, all with the clasp '1879', including Trooper Brown's award.
