Lieutenant-Colonel The 2nd Viscount Hanworth, Sir David Bertram Pollock, Baron Hanworth of Hanworth, was born in 1916 and educated at Wellington and Trinity College, Cambridge. Succeeding to the Viscountcy in 1936, he entered the Army as a Lieutenant in the Royal Engineers in 1941, attaining the rank of Temporary Lieutenant-Colonel in 1951 and retiring as a substantive Lieutenant-Colonel in 1959.
