The Reverend Ernest Livingston Macassey, who served as a 2nd Lieutenant in the Shropshire Light Infantry prior to taking Holy Orders in 1910, was Curate of Twickenham between 1910-13 and St. John the Baptist's, Harrow between 1913-19. A pre-War Territorial from 1911, he was awarded the T.D. in 1923 (London Gazette 2.1.1923 refers) and rose to be Senior Chaplain of the Home Counties Division between 1922-32. Macassey was Vicar of East Grinstead between 1924-25, St. Andrew's, Stoke Newington between 1925-35 and latterly of Mapledurham, Oxfordshire.
