Lot Essay

The Reverend Arthur Buxton was born in 1882 and gained a Bachelor's Degree from Cambridge in 1904 and a Master's Degree in 1908. He was a Curate at St. Stephen's, Clapham Park 1907-09 and Vicar of the Church of All Martyrs at Leicester 1910-13. During the Great War he was appointed Acting Army Chaplain in 1916 and Temporary Chaplain to the Forces 4th Class in 1917. Afterwards the Rector of All Souls Church, Langham Place, London, Buxton died in 1958.
