Officially known as the Model 1897, the French 75mm. Field Gun was the most famous Artillery weapon of the Great War. It could fire a 6kg. shell to a range of well over four miles with a rate of fire of 20 rounds per minute. Its revolutionary hydro-pneumatic recoil system gave it unprecedented accuracy.
