AN EARLY GEORGE III FREEDON BOX,
MAKER'S MARK I.S. IN AN OVAL, DUBLIN CIRCA 1766, f plain circular form with a pull-off cover and reeded borders, the interiors gilded, the cover engraved with the arms of the Corperation of Weavers and inscribed under the base "The Corperation of Weavers unanimously Present the Freedom of the Guild to the Right Honourable Arthur Earl of Arran for his Emminent services tot he Silk Manufacture of the Kingdom, Weavers Hall, Dublin, 1st July 1766", marked with crowned harp, maker's mark and Hibernia on base, sides and cover - 7.75cm dia, 4oz.
