The molded wooden frame enclosing three sets of panels, the large central rectangular panels decorated with a mountainous landcape, reversing to a battel scene around a hilltop fortress, the top square panels decorated with bird and flower vignettes reversing to the same, the bottom square panels decorated with scholars' desk accessories, including flowering vases, bronzes, and rocks, reversing to pairs of mated animals, the legs joined by shaped stretcher, each centered with a flower and carved with vines
