PROVENANCE;
Reputedly these chairs in the 18th century, formed part of the furnishings of Bar-Sur-Aube when it belonged to Madame De LA Motte-Valois. She gained notoriety in 1785 for being implicated in the celebrated case of the "Collier De La Reine", the theft of a fabulous diamond necklace belonging to Marie Antoinette.
