Lot Essay

This rococo revival table is reminiscent of the work of several New York cabinetmakers including Charles Baudouine (working 1829-1856) and Leon Marcotte. For examples of work completed by the firm of Leon Marcotte and his brother-in-law, Auguste-Emile Ringuet-Leprince, see Nina Gray, Leon Marcotte: Cabinetmaker and Interior Decorator in Luke Beckerdite, American Furniture, American Furniture, 1994, p.49-72.
