A FOUR-PIECE SILVER TEA SERVICE
Maker's mark of Alexander & Riker, New York, circa 1797
Comprising teapot and stand, covered sugar urn, cream pitcher and waste bowl; the oval teapot with beaded borders, the hinged cover surmounted by an urn-form finial, with wood scroll handle and straight spout, engraved with monogram GAG to each side, one side later engraved 1786, the conforming stand on tab feet, marked on and under bases, the stand apparently unmarked, the teapot with eagle and 'e' pseudo hallmarks, the waste bowl with leaf, bird and 'e' pseudo hallmark
The teapot and stand 9in. high; gross weight 64oz. 10dwt.
