A WORCESTER FLUTED CIRCULAR DISH
1780-1785, blue open crescent mark
The center in colours with a spray of tulips within a rocaille surround of cracked ice in a turquoise ground edged with gilt foliate scrolls and issuing similar scrolls to divide the dish in three, the blue enamel border gilt with repeating scallops of diagonal lines, a mon, trellis, a two leaves, diaper-pattern and a mon, edged with foliate scrolls and suspending colourful garlands of flowers to form a six-pointed star, 7in. (18.4cm.) diameter; together with a later-decorated Worcester waste-bowl, circa 1765, blue open crescent mark, painted with garlands of fruit and flowers and with moths, each reserved within gilt foliate scrolls and below a panelled rocaille border of purple trellis on a turquoise ground edged with gilt scrolls, alternate panels of the trellis later still over-painted in dark blue, the interior with a gilt entrelac band, 6in. (15.2cm.) diameter; and a similar fluted oviform tea-caddy and cover, decorated in blue and white with insects and later over-decorated in coloured enamels with alternate tight bouquets and moths separated by gilt scrolls, the cover rim and caddy shoulder with purple diaper-pattern on a turquoise ground edged with gilt foliate scrolls, 6in.
