A Chinese famille rose Canton vase and giltwood base
Circa 1880
The vase of slender baluster shape, with an overhanging rim, flanked by a pair of dragon handles, decorated all over with foliage and blossom, inset with panels of birds and foliage, on an associated giltwood base with scrolled acanthus feet stamped three times L'ESCALIER DE CRISTAL PARIS
The vase: 53½ in. (136 cm.) high;
The giltwood base: 16 in. (40.5 cm.) high; 14½ in. (37 cm.) diameter
