lithograph, 1944, on laid paper, signed in pencil, inscribed 'épreuve d'essai', a trial proof (the edition was 10 plus 4 artist's proofs; there was also the unsigned book edition of 60), with full margins, a pale stain in the left margin, inscribed '24' in pencil by another hand in the top margin, otherwise in good condition
