A fine Japanese ivory brise fan, decorated with haramaki, takamaki and kirigane figures with raised ivory faces in a lacquered moonlit landscape, the verso lacquered with convulvulous and another plant, the upper guardstick with shibayama work wisteria, the lower guardstick with raised green bamboo and a crane - 9in. (23cm.), last quarter of the 19th century (the body of the crane replaced)
