Graham--Vintage 1977 Tasting note: 14 notes since 1979 when it was a black red colour; big, fruity, green leaf, almost appley-nosed; very sweet, full, rich but angular. Very gradual colour loss but still fairly deep, plummy and only just starting to mature; extraordinary mlange of fragrances, pure liquorice, figs, strawberry, with citrus crispness; sweet, full-bodied, fleshy, soft, lovely fruit, balance and backbone. Flavour like liquorice 'Pontefract cakes' - as previously made in Yorkshire. Great future. M.B.
