A French bronze, ormolu and rouge griotte marble striking mantel clock and garniture, last quarter 19th century
The cylindrical case with scroll mounts and on a concave-sided base, resting on toupie feet cast with berried laurel leaves, inset with a white enamel Arabic dial decorated with floral swags and signed BERNOUX B.TE/PARIS 5 RUE DES FILLES-DU-CALVAIRES, with pierced gilt-metal hands, the twin barrel movement with strike on bell, the case surmounted by a bronze group of cavorting bacchantes, signed L. Gregoire, on circular base signed Bernoux Editeur and numbered 3447 and resting on a lobed plinth
