Lot Essay

A related serving-table by Gillingtons of Dublin, with lion-monopodia emerging from acanthus-wrapped volutes in the Roman style, was sold anonymously, in these Rooms, 6 February 1997, lot 210. Another serving-table with a similar pedimented gallery, bears the trade label of the Dublin partnership of Mack, Williams and Gibton and was sold anonymously, in these Rooms, 21 April 1994, lot 136.
