Lot Essay
With its frame, pillars and stump feet enriched with Egyptian reeding, and its elliptical handle plates guarded with Egyptian sphynx and wreathed by Grecian ribbon-frets, it reflects the antique fashion promoted by Thomas Sheraton's Cabinet-Maker and Upholsterer's Drawing Book, 1802.
