A 19th-Century school's tellurium, the 9-inch (22.9cm.) diameter terrestrial globe OBRAZ ZEMEKOULE Prehlédl Dr STANISLAV NIKOLAU [?]1921 Vydal J. Felkl a syn v Rotokách n/Vlt, made up of twelve coloured printed paper gores, the equatorial and Greenwich meridian graduated in degrees, the ecliptic graduated in days but unlabelled, the oceans with ocean currents and steamship routes, the continents with nation states outlined in orange, yellow and green and showing all the usual details (several areas of repairs and discolouration), with white painted wooden moonball on wire arm to brass gear mechanism, the main brass arm with scroll support to Zodiac ring with chromolithographed paper graduated in degrees in both directions, days of the month and of the houses of the Zodiac with pictures and compass directions (discolourations and abrasions, some paper loss) with candle holder and brass mirror, the mechanism beneath with fruitwood crank handle, on baluster column and cast bronze circular plinth base, with support arm and wheel -- 34in.
