with all text in Japanese script, the trade label in the southern Indian ocean, made up of twelve colour printed paper gores, the equatorial, Greenwich meridian and equinoctial colure all graduated in degrees, the ecliptic graduated in days, the continents with nation states delicately shaded in green and yellow and showing rivers, towns and cities, Japan, Korea, Taiwan and an area of northern Polynesia coloured in red to denote Japanese possession (numerous old abrasions and discolouration, som eloss of detail, some repairs) with graduated aluminium half circle, raised on a baluster turned ebonised column and plinth base -- 7½in.
