A Model Of The Whale Ship Hecla Of Sippican, Massachusetts
A solid hull model built up in lifts with a solid white waiste and faux verdigres painted bottom. The decks are of veneer and are scored to replicate deck planking. Details of the model include: anchors, bell, windlass, pin and fife rails, tryworks, barrells, cargo hatches, whale boats and boats rigged on davits, cutting-in station on the starboard side. The model is rigged with standing and running rigging, foot ropes, trees and tops. The model is mounted on 2 brass pedestals in a mahogany and glass case.
