Graham--Vintage 1977
Tasting note: Fourteen notes since 1979 when it was a black red colour; big, fruity, green leaf, almost appley-nosed; very sweet, full, rich but angular. Very gradual colour loss but still fairly deep, plummy and only just starting to mature; extraordinary mélange of fragrances, pure liquorice, fig, strawberry with citrus crispness; sweet, full-bodied, fleshy, soft, lovely fruit balance and backbone. Flavour like liquorice "pontefract cakes"- as previously made in Yorkshire. M.B. (GVWBII)
