McIlvaine A7a: "There is some confusion about the publication date of Wodehouse's first adult novel: the copyright page of the second printing states it was first published July 1906, in a letter George Newnes reported June 1906, while Wodehouse's own records and the English Catalogue give August. The British Museum did not receive a copy of the first printing."
