It is interesting to compare this bottle to a coconut bottle also signed Zhong Ji, illustrated by Robert Hall, Chinese Snuff Bottles, London, 1987, pp. 20-21, no. 7

The inscription can be read as:
Store (snuff) in gourd with frequency.
