Of flattened ovoid shape, carved through an overlay of white and black in a continuous scene with a hawk in a pine tree above a dog-like bear seated on rockwork to one side and a deer and crane below pine to the other, stopper

Lot Essay

The bear is a symbol of bravery and strength. The deer, crane and pine are symbols of longevity, whilst the deer and crane together traditionally symbolize the joy of marriage.
