An oak and inlaid tester bedstead, English, 17th century and later
the nine panel tester with moulded and scratch carved cornice raised on ring-turned and square section column supports, the headboard with two horizontal panels inlaid with foliate scrolling whirl decoration, above two arcaded panels foliate carved and centred with profuse foliate scrolling marquetry, with three plain panels below joined by side rails to a twin panelled footboard, now intergrally joined to the posts -- 52in. (132cm.) wide, 79½in. (202cm.) long, 74½in. (189cm.) high
