A large oak press cupboard, North Country, late 17th century
probably Lancashire, the upper section with a pair of panels carved with stylised flowers and flanked by cupboard doors carved with grotesque scaley creatures, below an overhanging frieze with berried foliage, initialled and dated HMB 1700 and with bell-shaped drop finials, above a pair of frieze drawers with interlocking scroll detail and a pair of four panel doors below, on channelled stile feet -- 70½in. (179cm.) wide, 72in. (183cm.) high, 24in. (61cm.) deep
