Lot Essay

Giuseppe Archinto (1651-1712), of a noble Milanese family, served as Papal Nuncio in Tuscany (1686), Venice (1689), and Spain (1691). This undated medal celebrates his appointment as Cardinal Archbishop of Milan in 1699.
