This is a study for 'An advanced dressing Station in France' which is in the collection of the Imperial War Museum, London.
Winifred Knights, with her husband Thomas Mornington, occupied the ground floor of Tonks' studio at 1A, The Vale, from 1927 to 1937. Both students had attended the Slade during the First World War.
