inscribed 'Thomas Branthwayt/Ob:1676.' (lower left) and with inscription 'Thomas, eldest son of/William Branthwayt/by Julian d. of Thomas/Berney of Swandiston/in Norfolk. He died single/20 Mar.6.1676: was buried/in the aisle of Hethel Ch./near the altar rails/ob:1710' (on the reverse)
