Portrait of J. Jenkinson, half-length, in a black coat and white stock

It has been suggested that this could be a self portrait of the marine artist John Jenkinson (active c. 1790-1821). A self portrait was exhibited the previous year at the Liverpool Academy Exhibition 1812, no. 108.
