Modeled with his hands folded, wearing a voluminous robe with the folds cascading from the shoulders, his ovoid face with a serene expression, straight nose and arched brows, the hair arranged in incised curls and gathered in a domed topknot

Compare a closely related figure of smaller size at The Cleveland Museum of Art, see S. Czuma, Kushan Sculpture: Images from Early India, 1985, cat. no. 121. The figure would have been placed against a wall background designed for frontal view, transfixed in static harmony.
