Each tri-lobed bowl with two loop handles on the rim and raised on three tall cylindrical legs, cast in relief with three taotie masks divided by descending dragons on a leiwen ground, the interior with a three-character pictogram, with heavy patination and areas of malachite encrustation

In size, proportions and decoration, these ding bear strong resemblance to a group illustrated by Robert W. Bagley, Shang Ritual Bronzes in the Arthur M. Sackler Collections, 1987, p. 487, nos. 93.1-7.
