A Fine Teadust-Glazed Vase
Qianlong Incised Seal Mark and of the Period
The compressed body raised on a spreading foot and surmounted by a tall neck, covered overall with a finely speckled glaze of deep olive tone thinning to tortoiseshell on the mouth rim, the seal mark also covered with a tortoiseshell glaze and the bottom of the foot dressed with a dark brown wash

A similar vase of this size in the Victoria and Albert Museum is illustrated by R. Kerr, Chinese Ceramics, Porcelain of the Qing Dynasty, 1644-1911, London, 1986, no. 25; and another is illustrated by R. Krahl, Chinese Ceramics in the Meiyintang Collection, vol. 2, London, 1944, pp. 256-257, no. 936. Compare, also, the vase from a private Hawaiian collection and previously from the T.Y.
