A Victorian silver-gilt gentleman's travelling toilet set,
comprising; a soap box, a travelling inkwell, vesta box, two eau de cologne bottles, and box with inner lid, all with engine-turned decoration and applied initials, possibly by John Batson, 1874, the lid of the case containing a velvet covered blotter pad with matching ladie's travelling case, containing five mother-of-pearl mounted nail implements, two mother-of-pearl mounted writing implements, a pair of scissors, a peg and worm corkscrew, two further small implements, ivory glove stretchers, two silver arch shaped boxes, a rouge pot, a cased ivory brush and a large clothes brush, all by the same maker, same date, the lid of the case containing a velvet covered mirror.
