A large Japanese ivory model of the Takarabune
with birds head prow and wings, carved and pierced with the seven Immortals and their attributes on the galleried deck beneath a central square mast with flamiform banner and triple sail decorated with coiled dragon, ho-o, cloud scrolls, flaming pearl and characters, the sides of the boat and the rudder similarly decorated -- 33½in. (85.1cm) high, rounded rectangular red lacquered wood stand with scrolling feet, 20th Century, (age cracks, minor losses, pieces re-stuck).
