A bronze koro
with compressed baluster shaped body, domed and pierced cover with ferocious karashishi finial, upright pierced lug handles and stylised cabriole legs interspersed with pierced key fret flanges, decorated in low relief and highlighted in gilt with panels of birds and mythical beasts, bands of stylised key fret and scrolling foliage -- 18½in. (47cm) high, 19th Century.
