Hu Yuji (Wo Yue-Kee), a painting in ink and colour on paper
depicting a kingfisher perched on the branch of a tree -- 37in. x 13¾in. (94cms x 35cms), signed Yuji and sealed, dated dingyou year (1957), winter, silk mount, framed and glazed.
Hu Yuji was a pupil of Zhao Shao'ang (1905-1998), one of the foremost exponents of the Lingnan School of painting this century.
