Five of the following six lots contain six of Reginald B. Birch's original drawings for Frances Hodgson Burnett, Little Lord Fauntleroy. Its first printing was by serial publication in St. Nicholas Magazine, vol. 13, 1885-1886; the first book appearance was New York, Charles Scribner's Sons 1886. A further six of the original drawings were sold in these rooms on 7 October 1994. These thirteen drawings comprise half of the original 26 illustrations for this classic American children's book.
