Of three young boys clambering onto a pack horse, the saddle-cloth inscribed A. LEDUC/A TORIGNI, on a bronzed naturalistic marble base

Lot Essay

Arthur Leduc (d. 1918) studied under Lenordez and Barye, before exhibiting at the Salon between 1873 and 1914. The present work demonstrates the combination of his instinctive ability as an animalier with the equal talent of depicting the human form.
