An oak and inlaid press cupboard, English, part 17th century
with a scroll carved frieze and a pair of chequer-banded lozenge filled cupboard doors flanking a recessed foliate panel and flanked by projecting fluted columns, headed with initials and bearing the date 1541 T.W., above a trailing foliate and chequer-banded frieze and a pair of triple panel doors, the upper panel with lozenge detail, on channelled stile legs and later bun feet, both sections bearing to the reverse a handwritten notice "Tudor Sideboard Cabinet (16th Century)..." -- 61½in. (156cm.) wide
