A SPANISH LATE RENAISSANCE WROUGHT-IRON-MOUNTED WALNUT BENCH
Late 16th/Early 17th Century
The panelled rectangular back decorated with three sunken cabochons on scrolled top supports, above a lifting seat with scrolled iron hinges, a stylized leaf motif to the crestrail and the front and side of the seat, a lambrequin to the lower edge of the back and the seat, flanked by gently downcurved rectangular arms with scrolled handrests, on molded scrolled square legs joined by similar incised stretchers, the hinged seat now fastened.
