A Swiss chrome-plated compendium desk timepiece, first half 20th century
Of cube form with concave-curved angles, on ringed cylindrical column to stepped circular base, each silvered dial within a gilt slip and for thermometer, hygrometer, barometer and time respectively, the latter with applied Arabic chapters (8 lacking) and signed ANGELUS, with apertures to the centre for day of week and month and subsidiary dial for date, the top mounted with a compass, the time dial hinged for keyless wind to rear, with lever escapement -- 4½in. (11.5cm.) high
